{ Tori } | 13 in 2013! |

Hi friends!

Man, I've been falling behind on my blog lately! There have been so many amazing things happening and I'm excited to share one of my most recent shoots with you today!  I'm going to have to play catch up the next few weeks and blog a few other of my recent sessions!

I was contacted by a lady several weeks ago who had heard of me through a mutual friend, (YAY for referrals!!).  She was interested in booking a custom portrait session for her 13 year old granddaughter to help celebrate and commemorate this incredible milestone in her young life.  As a photographer, please let me say that it is SO rewarding to witness families realizing the importance of capturing all of these "little" moments in a big way!  For my dear Client's to trust me with their precious memories and allow me to join in on their celebration is even more rewarding still!

Miss Tori is 13 this year!  Thirteen in 2013, how cool is that?!   She is truly a gorgeous young lady inside and out.  She has a love for drama and acting, and has been a part of several school drama productions.  She is also a very talented singer, which I got to witness first hand!  She is a Texas Longhorns fan and also loves going to the shooting range with her dad.   I might add that this session also took place on Father's Day, so of course we had to add Dad in a photo too!  I was able to spend 3 hours with her and her fabulous grandmother and we laughed for the majority of that time! Tori chose several outfits and themes to help encompass all of her interests, and we combined studio work and my trademark outdoor natural light photography into her collection to fit the needs of this incredible session.  The gorgeous piano and rock wall are actually in the families living room!

{ Daniel R. } | modeling |

Daniel and his parents are long time family friends, and truly just some of the nicest folks you could ever hope to meet.  Daniel is a junior in HS this year and we're working on his modeling portfolio.  As you are about to see for yourself, he is bound for great things!  I absolutely love doing sessions with him!  Hes a natural in front of the camera, and I adore his serious look!  Unfortunately the weather was against us this day but we braved it anyway and came home with some really great shots! We were fortunate enough to find some truly awesome locations to give us exactly the urban grunge look we were wanting. I'm currently planning some awesome future shoots with this handsome young man so you'll want to stick around!

Amy Dillingham Photography is based in the Texas Panhandle but also serves the DFW area.  I specialize in Senior Portraits, Individual Portraits, Couples, Bridals, and Weddings.  I am also available for Family and Child Photography.  For more information about me, or for information on booking your own session, please go to: www.amydillinghamphotography.com

{Michael & Mena} |family|

Jimena emailed me about two months ago telling me that she wanted me to take her and her hubby, Michael's christmas family portraits.  I was completely stoked!  Mena has been a good friend for a couple of years now and is the sister in law of another good family friend, the lovely Miss Abby.  You may recognize Abby from her romance on the lake portraits not too long ago.  If you missed it, check it out here : http://www.amydillinghamphotography.blogspot.com/2012/08/abby-noel-romance.html  That was my introductory post on this blog and I have just loved blogging my sessions since.  I'll include a couple of Mena's bridal portraits in this post to show you my first session with this beautiful lady.  She is simply stunning!

Back to Mena & Michael; these two are just the most awesome and totally meant for each other couple ever!  They are truly both old souls, in love with everything vintage and everything music.  When we started scheming for their styled session we began with ideas revolving around a vintage record player and their favorite records.  I have to admit that while we took those, they are nowhere near my favorites of this session!  This session went above and beyond my wildest expectations and was a true refresher for me.  My next idea was one borrowed from the amazing Ginny Corbett Photography and one that I thought fit this couple to a "t".  With a little craftiness, Mena turned an old guitar into a chalkboard to display their Christmas greeting. It was absolutely perfect, and paired with the gorgeous lake backdrop, its just breathtaking!

What turned out to be the most prominent feature of their session came to be completely by accident!  The day before their session I was meeting another Client in old town Cleburne and was recommended to an antique store around the corner from where we were.  I had the idea to shoot around downtown and I also wanted to find an old vintage camera. What I found was Heritage Home, Vintage Inspired Living. There is truly something for every taste, as you are about to see!  I was completely awestruck when I walked in and the ideas started flowing freely!  I introduced myself to the owner, Lynn Buker, and asked if she would be open on Sunday.  She replied that she would not be and I believe my reply was something along the lines of "Darn it, I was hoping I could take some portraits of my Clients in your awesome store tomorrow!"  She was sweet enough to hand me a card and tell me to call her in the morning!  What an amazing blessing! Lynn, you really made this session what it came to be!  Thank you a million for opening your heart and your store to us!  We truly appreciated it and I would LOVE to do it again someday!  (and I can't wait to come back into town so I can go shopping in your store again!)

You can find Heritage Home on facebook here: www.facebook.com/HeritageHomeSupply  Be sure to show some love, "Like" their page and tell them I sent you!  Also, if you are in the area, take some time to go check them out!   The address is 116 E. Chambers Street Cleburne, TX 76031  and they are open Tuesday - Saturday 10am to 5 pm.  They specialize in Antiques, Gifts, Home Decor and Reclaimed Goods.  If you are looking for something specific, give Lynn a call, she's wonderfully kind and I know she would love to help you!  You can reach her at (817) 933-4836.
